A week of sport, and I’ve got the internet again, so streaming video footage while drinking has become par for the course. This week – finals, matches and some of the best wrestling I’ve seen all year.

We’re getting into the business end of the football seasons, and so I rant about the state of televised professional wrestling! And Australia lost the Ashes, so you know I’m gonna have something to say about the cricket. Plus, get some more Collingwood hate! It’s abuse for everyone!

Football’s back! Yay! So I predict what’s going to happen (so you KNOW it’s not going to go that way!) and wax lyrical about the game. I also have too much to say about netball and cricket and rugby league, and not enough about other sports. That’s this view!

The end of our football seasons sees Australia start to fall into the briefest of lulls, sports-wise. Which is a shame, because with the world’s finances in crisis mode, we need something to distract ourselves. And so I went to the wrestling! Scores, comments and a review! What more could you ask for (except, maybe, a new Mercedes convertible and a trip to Bermuda)?

In Australia, most people think the NFL is some fringe political party, or a breakaway Aussie rules league. The only time we hear about it is the SuperBowl, and even then 75% of the media coverage focuses on the commercials.
