Shockey Gone?
By Thomas Daniels - July 21, 2008 | Email the author

WFAN is reporting that The Giants’ Jeremy Shockey has been shipped to the Saints for a 2nd and 5th round pick. As a huge Giants’ fan, I find myself torn. I often wanted to like Shockey, but he seemed like a huge baby and a bad teammate. It seemed like the team keeping him around was going to create unnecessary drama if he couldn’t get over not being on the field when the team won the Super Bowl last year.

Shockey was really the last link to the loud, malcontent team that took the field for the first few years of Eli Manning’s career. Tiki Barber’s, Michael Strahan’s, and Jeremy Shockey’s departures closes the Ernie Accorsi era and truly moves the team totally in to the ‘Catch-42′ era. The team belongs to Antonio Pierce and Eli Manning now. Follow or get out.
